How many moles are present in 10g of CaCO3? [Atomic weight: Ca = 40, C = 12, O = 16]

Show SolutionHide Solution↓

0.1 mole

Reason — Number of moles present in 10g of CaCO3

Molar mass of CaCO3 = 40 + 12 + 3(16) = 40 + 12 + 48 = 100 g

100 g of CaCO3 = 1 mole

∴ 10 g of CaCO3 = $\frac{10}{100}$

= 0.1 mole
