Analyse the displacement position graph and answer the questions that follow.

Reason —
(a) Loudness depends on the amplitude and pitch depends on the frequency (i.e., on the wavelength for the same speed), while quality depends on the wave form. Waves b and d have the same amplitude and the same wavelength (50 m), but their wave forms are different. So they represent sounds of the same loudness and pitch but of different quality.
(b) Waves a and c have the same wavelength (125 m), so they have the same pitch, but their amplitudes are different, so they differ in loudness.
